Today I hurt myself

To feel the pain

The usual sting

As I twist and turn

This pain is the only thing that is real

I hurt myself yesterday

As I lay in the heat

And watched the water run red

Now I sit and look at the glowing scars

The other day I fed my addiction

Now it’s starting again

I am scared

But I can’t stop

As I pull the blade down my wrists

As I feel the same old sting

As I see that drip kiss the floor

Staining it red...

I know I should stop

But this has become a part of me
